Thank you for visiting the Cañon City Police Department (CCPD) webpage.  CCPD is a modern, professional, state accredited law enforcement agency. The department embraces a community policing philosophy that focuses on customer service and professionalism with a mission to, in partnership with our community, promote the quality of life by providing police services with integrity and with a spirit of excellence, by solving crime, preventing crime and protecting the rights of citizens.


The Cañon City Police Department was accredited in November of 2013 by complying with the professional standards set forth by the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police.

The department’s mission includes the following responsibilities:

  • Enforcing laws and preserving public safety and order;
  • Reducing crime and disorder through prevention and intervention;
  • Responding to community needs through partnerships and joint problem-solving;
  • Investigating and reporting serious and non-serious crimes for prosecution;
  • Providing information and service referrals; and
  • Managing and administering CCPD operations.
Daric Harvey is the Chief of Police and commands the Administration Division. The Chief of Police responsibilities are the overall management of the police department. The Chief is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting for all aspect of the police department. He accomplishes these tasks through delegation of authority to a qualified and experienced command staff.

Robert Hill is the Operations Commander.

Tammy Wagner is the Support Services Commander.
