The Fremont County Department of Human Services administers all assistance payments and related income support program policies in accordance with the rules and regulations contained in the Colorado State Staff Manuals, Vol. III, IV-B and VIII. Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments (UAACOG)
UAACOG provides services for the benefit of individuals, families, businesses, and local governments in four counties along the Upper Arkansas River Basin in central Colorado. The four-county COG Region includes Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, and Lake Counties. Some programs serve additional counties, including Park, Teller, and Saguache. Programs include CSBG Emergency Assistance (mortgage, utilities, medical, dental, etc.), Food Distribution, Headstart, Housing, WIC, Workforce Center, and more.
