Cowboy History of Fremont County

Saturday, July 31, 2021

The Friends of the Royal Gorge Regional Museum & History Center will have Cañon City local Grant Adkisson present a program titled “Cowboy History of Fremont County” on Saturday, July 31st at 1pm. Grant was born in Cañon City and has lived here most of his life. For many years Grant raised cattle and horses, preached Cowboy Church services at many rodeos, including Cheyenne Frontier Days, the National Finals Rodeo, the Houston Rodeo, the National Western in Denver, and many more. He was an avid team roper for many years, has outfitted and guided hunters on many outdoor TV shows, and traveled with Michael Martin Murphy, Waddie Mitchell, R.W. Hampton, the Sons of the San Joaquin, and did two TV shows with Dale Evans and Roy Rogers. The program is free and open to the public. Please join us in commemorating the legacy of the American Cowboy.
