Replacement of the existing water main on the 600 Block of College Avenue from the west side of the Hydraulic Ditch to the intersection of 7th Street will begin approximately the third week of January 2023.
Work will include the replacement of the existing water main and water services along the work area. Intermittent disruption to water service will be required to complete the work. The City, along with City’s contractor, will notify residents prior to service disruption.
College Avenue between N 6th Street and N 7th Street will be closed to through traffic during this time. Additionally, due to the nature of the work, on-street vehicle parking in close proximity to the excavation will be directly impacted. Residents are asked to move any vehicles out of the area and use alternative parking locations or alley access to properties during this time. Once started, it is anticipated the work will take 7-10 days to complete.
City crews will be onsite beginning on Thursday, January 12, 2023 to complete some initial preliminary work prior to the installation of the water main to be performed by the City’s contractor. Intermittent street closures may be required to complete the City’s portion of the work.
Access for emergency services will be maintained. Crews will attempt to complete all work in a way that minimizes disruption by all means possible.
This work is in advance of the 2A Road Reconstruction project which is currently scheduled to be completed late summer 2023. The City appreciates your patience and cooperation.
