Water Main replacement will occur on Raynolds Avenue-Fremont Drive to Pear Street, Pear Street–Raynolds Avenue to Field Avenue, and Field Avenue–Pear Street to Central Avenue.
Replacement of the existing water main will begin approximately the first week of February 2023 along the affected streets and should be completed by the end of May 2023, weather permitting. Work will include the replacement of the existing water main and water services. Intermittent disruption to water service will be required to complete the work. The City, along with City’s contractor, will notify residents prior to service disruption.
The streets will be closed to through traffic during this time. Access to driveways and emergency services will be maintained. Crews will attempt to complete all work in a way that minimizes disruption by all means possible.
This work is in advance of the 2A Road Reconstruction project which will follow immediately through the same areas. It is anticipated that the 2A work will begin around May 1, 2023, and be completed by the end of Summer 2023.
Many of the private sewer service lines were installed over 30 years ago. If your private sewer service line needs replacement or has had some problems in the past, now would be a good time to have it done. The cost of replacing your service line after the new pavement and curb are installed will be significantly higher due to the need to cut and replace the new asphalt surface and curb that will cover your service line.
If your sewer service is sluggish, blocked up, or troublesome on an ongoing basis, you may wish to have some investigation done to determine the overall condition of your private service line. It may be that replacement now would be the most cost-effective long-term solution.
