Amy Schmisseur is the Mayor Pro Tem, at-large council member of the City of Cañon City. This is an elected position that serves a four-year term, at-large, meaning he/she may reside anywhere within the City limits of Cañon City.
The Mayor Pro Tem shall have and exercise the same powers, authority and duties as the Mayor, when the Mayor is out of the City or unable to act because of disability. The Mayor Pro Tem shall preside over Council meetings when the Mayor is absent and, unlike the Mayor, shall have the right to vote on all matters presented during any such meeting.
