Work has already been underway for a couple of weeks on our northern project (Meadows to Washington) near Cañon Exploratory School (CES) and we will continue to have a full closure of 9th Street between Raintree Boulevard and Family Center Drive for the next ~4 weeks while crews work to install a new storm sewer system down the center of the street.
Work on the southern project (Mystic to Meadows) will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14th. One of the first major operations on the project will be the replacement of the concrete box culvert that carries the Hydraulic Ditch under Mystic and 9th Street. This work will require the full closure of 9th Street between Floral and Allison. The replacement of the box culvert will likely take 2.5 months to complete with a goal to be ready for irrigating water no later than April 1st. No parking will be allowed on 9th Street in an active work zone.
Work between the two projects will include the full reconstruction of 9th Street between Mystic and Washington and many utility, sidewalk, curb, and other upgrades along the corridor. Construction is expected to last into summer for the northern project and into fall for the southern project.
