The purpose of this second meeting is to review the input and ideas the community provided during the December 2, 2025 open house regarding the redevelopment of the riverfront site at the western gateway to Cañon City – the 22-acre location of the former Black Hills Energy W.N. Clark power plant. Three conceptual framework designs will be presented and the City is encouraging public feedback.
Conceptual display boards will be set up so community members can view the area of the Western Gateway Park planning zone, listed community priorities for this area, and the three conceptual framework designs. Cañon City planning staff and representatives of PORT Urbanism will be on hand to share information and to capture input from city residents on these design concepts and what you would like to see in the future at this prime Arkansas Riverfront location.
