Commander Bell grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and moved to Fremont County in 2001 when he was hired by the Florence Police Department. He worked in Florence from May of 2001 to December of 2009 when he went to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) and worked as a Patrol Deputy. In October of 2012, Commander Bell was hired by the Cañon City Police Department (CCPD) and left the Sheriff’s Office. During his time with these agencies he has worked as a Patrol Officer/Deputy, Detective, Corporal, Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, Special Assignments Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Law Enforcement Division Commander, and now the Professional Standards Commander. Commander Bell has undergraduate degree work in both Criminal Justice and History and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Theology. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 284) and has twice been honored with being the Officer of the Year (CCPD) and once as Patrol Deputy of Year (FCSO). Commander Bell is also a recipient of the Police Exemplary Service Medal.
