Campgrounds
East Ridge Campground
East Ridge Campground is located 20 minutes west of Cañon City and is open year-round. An informational kiosk structure and self-service iron ranger pay system have been installed as well as an additional parking area for day use outside the campground boundaries. There are twenty-three newly constructed and designated campsites! Each campsite is individually numbered and includes either a trailer and/or tent site, fire pit, and picnic table. The campground has two vault toilet facilities and there are no electrical hookups or potable water.
From this campsite area in the Royal Gorge Park, you’ll be treated to views of Cañon City and the surrounding park area, where you can hike or bike along the 22 miles of surrounding trails. The truly adventurous can get to town via the Royal Cascade Trail–a 3.6-mile trail that descends 1,800 feet and connects to Tunnel Drive Trail near town.
East Ridge Campground Camping Fees
The Eastridge Campground at the Royal Gorge Park is a paysite as of January 1, 2021 at the rate of $20.00 per night. Fees from camping help pay for campsite improvements, campground monitoring (especially necessary during fire bans), and general maintenance.
