Public Safety and Quality of Life Committee

The Public Safety and Quality of Life Committee's purpose is to address public safety, community wellbeing, and cultural resources. The committee will serve as the principal coordinating body for policy level recommendations regarding public safety and law enforcement matters, crime reduction strategies, homelessness initiatives, parks, recreation and community services, museum and library operations and programming, community health and wellness programs, and code enforcement.

Membership of the Public Safety and Quality of Life Committee shall consist of three (3) members of City Council, the Mayor, and seven (7) citizens of which four (4) must be Cañon City residents. Only the Mayor and the appointed Council members have the authority to vote on matters before committee.

Meetings

The Public Safety and Quality of Life Committee meets at 4:00 p.m. on the the first Wednesday of every month following a City Council meeting.  Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 128 Main Street, Cañon City, Colorado.
