The City of Cañon City in partnership with Canon City High School has been awarded a small grant by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to install temporary traffic calming along College Avenue near 13th Street.
The project is being undertaken to slow vehicular traffic along this busy section of College Avenue that is often full of pedestrian activity. Installation of the project will occur during spring break, Thursday, March 20, 2025, and is planned to remain in place at least through the end of the school year. This traffic calming is being used as a trial installation to advise the final design of this section of College Avenue which is planned for 2A reconstruction in the near future.
