Road reconstruction along Main Street and 1st Street is slated to switch phases on Monday, April 28th.
Beginning on Monday, Main Street will be closed to westbound traffic to allow for the reconstruction of the north half of the roadway. Eastbound traffic and parking will be maintained along Main Street between 2nd and 4th Streets. N 3rd and N 2nd St are closed at Macon with local access only.
There will be two-way traffic along Main Street west of 2nd Street primarily to provide access for City Hall, Department of Corrections, and Driftwood and Clay Art Market. 1st Street between US-50 and Main Street will be closed to all traffic during this phase of the project.
ALL businesses are still open and we encourage the public to still come down to this end of Main Street, see the construction, and help support local businesses. We are hoping that we can get all major construction done by Memorial Day. We thank you for your patience while this work is being completed.
