Please join us on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd to celebrate this holiday season!
The City of Cañon City’s 2022 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on First Friday this year at Macon Plaza. Starting at 4:30 p.m. we welcome the public to come meet and take photos with Santa! There will be a tree ornament craft for kids and families in the Carnegie library. Mayor Ashley Smith will be turning on the Christmas Tree lights at 6:00 p.m. followed by a performance by the Cañon City High School Madrigal Singers. We will be providing complimentary hot chocolate and s’mores. In addition, there will be food for purchase by From the Flames Wood Fired Pizza. Once again, we will have our famous snowball fight area set up with our fake plush snowballs! Voting for the Main Street “A Very Victorian Window Decorating Contest” also begins on First Friday.
The celebration continues on Saturday, December 3rd with the Royal Gorge Chamber
Alliance’s 33rd Annual Christmas Parade of Lights taking place down 5th to 10th Streets
of Historic Main Street starting at 6:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “A Very Victorian
Christmas.” Come early to enjoy the Main Street window decorating contest, merchant
specials, and food trucks. Fremont Center for the Arts will be holding their European
Christmas Market on both days, from 10:00 am. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00
