Beginning Tuesday, December 12, 2023, work on the US Hwy 50 Pedestrian Improvement Project will begin between 1st and 5th Streets along US Hwy 50.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane of travel in each direction in this area. Work will begin in the existing center turn lane. Access to US Hwy 50 at the cross streets (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th) will be restricted to right in/right out, except that signalized intersections will remain open to traffic at this time. The City of Cañon City asks for the public’s patience and cooperation for the duration of the project. Please be cautious while traveling through the cone zone.
