The public has an opportunity to provide input regarding the City's application to the United States Environmental Protection (EPA) for a Brownfields Cleanup Grant.
The City of Cañon City intends to apply to the United States Environmental Protection (EPA) for a Brownfields Cleanup Grant on November 14, 2024, for removal of hazardous materials from the properties at 315 Main Street (aka New Method Laundry and Dry Cleaning) and 304 South 1st Street (aka Skyline Steel), Cañon City, CO.
A copy of the draft grant application and a draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for these properties will be available for review and comment starting October 31, 2024, at City Hall and on the City’s website (see below). To review this material in person, please visit City Hall, 128 Main Street, Cañon City, CO Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Ask for the Cleanup Grant Application packet. Upon completing your review, you may provide written comments to the City Clerk or Grant Writer until November 13, 2024, 5:00 p.m.
